PRE-HISTORY David fell in love with filmmaking when he was 13 years old. He caught the bug while he and his friends filmed each other skateboarding after school and soon realized that he preferred operating the camera and directing the shots. Before long their skate films turned into elaborate short films and mini action movies. He learned filmmaking in those early days by shooting on VHS and Hi-8 camcorders and editing films in camera or using a primitive VCR to VCR technique. This kind of filmmaking taught him to be very decisive with his shot and editing choices.
